Sushi Fest Thanks to Mizuki

This may mark the first time sushi was ever eaten in the Friedrich home, much less actually made. Our special guest Mizuki spent the afternoon shopping and chopping in order to lay out a sushi feast for us.Mizuki scrambled the eggs with chop sticks and then fried them to the perfect thickness.
Then chopped them into nice strips.
We sat down to the feast. Unfortunately there was nobody else to share the feast with. We could have used the help as we found it quite filling.
The feast featured nori (Japanese seaweed wrap), sushi rice (made with rice vinegar and sugar), tuna, shrimp, avocado, cabbage, carrot, onion, egg, and a few other odds and ends that were delicious! Mizuki walked us through the steps of creating the perfect sushi roll.
We decided sushi was very similar to the burrito concept. We also agreed that we tried to put far too much stuff into each roll, as there was always an eruption of the ingredients.
Jacob was a very good sport and decided he could learn to like this new treat.
