Fat Tuesday Pancake Breakfast

On Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent, Nancy and many members of the Win Our World service ministry held a pancake dinner at St. John's Lutheran. The pancake dinner dates way back in time, as people prepared for Lent by using up many of the ingredients that they were giving up during the 40 days before Easter. Putting on the dinner is a combined effort of the youth and many parents, who cook the pancakes on a big grill. The youth and children serve as the waiters, and many different varieties of pancakes were offered, including chocolate chip, blueberry and sweet potato.

Jacob plays the character Trevor Gradin in "Thoroughly Modern Millie"

Jacob has been busy these past weeks with rehearsals for "Thoroughly Modern Millie", a musical, at West High School. Tonight the cast puts on the last performance. Jacob plays the office manager who Millie initially wants to marry...until she finds another love. Jacob's part is very funny and he has some great lines. He also sings several songs which are also very funny. Here is Jacob with the title character Millie. After the show Jacob met with his fans. Here he is with his brother Craig, who flew in from Reston, Virginia to witness his little brother's performance.
Jacob and Craig strike a pensive pose, as Trevor does many times during the show.
Nancy's mother Joan and her friend PA came all the way from Bloomington, Indiana to witness the spectacle.
Here's the crowd of Jacob's family fans after the Friday night performance. That's PA at the left, Craig, Nancy, Joan, Jim, Jacob, Mitzi and Roland (Jim's parents).
Roland and Mitzi enjoy a good musical, though they said this one was great!
Jacob was also supported by many friends from church, including Pastor Amy and Griffin and Beck Hamstead.
